The only city in the UK that's a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bath is full of breath-taking scenery from its storied past. Yet it also has a lively modern atmosphere as seen through its highly rated restaurants and a buzzing nightlife. As you might expect from a city that traces its origin back to the 1st century AD, Bath has plenty of history and culture for you to explore. There's the famous Roman Baths themselves, comprised of fascinating sites like the Sacred Spring, the roman temple, and the bathing complex.

Yet Bath is also home to a huge range of non-Roman attractions. This includes more than forty museums, such as The Herschel Museum of Astronomy and the restored Georgian townhouse museum, No. 1 Royal Crescent. There's also a range of art galleries like the Victoria Art Gallery and The Holburne Museum.

Then there's the River Avon Trail, a walking path roughly 23 miles long which you can follow all the way to Bristol.
