Vistry Housebuilding chief executive to skydive with colleagues for housebuilder’s charity of the year

A Vistry Housebuilding chief executive is jumping at the chance to join staff members who are getting ready to undertake a daring skydive for charity.

A group of 10 Vistry employees, including Housebuilding chief executive Keith Carnegie, will jump out of a plane above Tilstock Airfield in Shropshire in aid of suicide prevention charity, Papyrus.

Keith and the employees from Vistry’s Mercia region aim to raise £8,000 for their charity of the year, which provides support to young people struggling with mental health and suicidal thoughts.

The skydive will take place at the Skydive Tilstock Freefall Club, near Whitchurch, on Friday 5th August.

Keith said: “This isn’t a usual Vistry fundraiser and completely out of all our comfort zones, but it is completely worth it to raise much-needed funds for our charity of the year, Papyrus. It’s a fantastic opportunity for members of our team to enjoy the unique thrill of skydiving while raising money for an extremely worthwhile cause.

“As our chosen charity, Papyrus is a cause which is extremely important to us. Suicide is the biggest killer of people aged 35 and under in the UK so the great work the charity does is truly lifesaving.

“I’m grateful to my colleagues who have bravely signed up to take part in the skydive and we are all looking forward to what should be a memorable day. We have set ourselves an ambitious fundraising target of £8,000 so any donations which can help us achieve this total would be greatly appreciated.”

Sponsors who donate £15 or more will be entered into a prize draw with the chance to win a one-night hotel stay in London and a three-course dinner with a cocktail for two at the Fortnum and Mason Bar and Restaurant at the Royal Exchange in London, donated by Ibstock Brick.
