Netherton United U15 Girls football team in Peterborough nets two year sponsorship deal

A girls football team in Peterborough has signed a two-year sponsorship deal with Vistry Group, which has its East Midlands regional headquarters in the city.

The deal with Netherton United FC U15 girls has funded new football shirts – bearing Vistry’s Linden Homes and Bovis Homes brands – for the team, who train at the club’s ground at The Grange, off Charlotte Way, Netherton.

The club has a strong track record nurturing young talent and former junior players have gone on to play professional football and even represent England.

The Netherton Utd FC U15 girls are double title winners, claiming silverware in the Cambridgeshire S-tech Girls and Women’s Football League for the past two years as U13s and U14s.

Coach Kevin Blood said: “I am so proud of the achievements of the team. I have coached some of the players, which includes my daughter, since the age of seven and it has been incredible to watch them all grow in confidence and skills both on and off the pitch.

“Several players have also recently trialled and have been accepted into regional talent centres, which could potentially lead them on to play for England eventually.

“We are looking forward to entering a new league this year and are proud to be wearing such a well-established and recognised brand such as Linden Homes and Bovis Homes at all of our home and away games.”

Vistry’s East Midlands regional head office is based at Southgate Park in Peterborough and the housebuilder is currently building new Bovis Homes properties at Hampton Water.

Vistry is also bringing forward a new landmark development of 1,499 properties, located off London Road (A15) between junctions 16 and 17 of the A1(M), to be called Great Haddon Wood, with homes being provided under the Bovis Homes and Linden Homes brands as well as by Vistry Partnerships.

Nic Chapman, sales and marketing director for Vistry East Midlands, said: “As a city-based housebuilder, we are proud to support Netherton United FC’s under-15 girls.

“This has been an incredible year for the women’s game, topped by the Lionesses’ inspirational Euros win, and it is great to see that grassroots clubs like Netherton Utd are bringing on the next generation of players who dream of following in the footsteps of their heroes.

“We look forward to following the girls as they aim to build on their success in the season ahead.”
