Young footballers in Crowland are playing in Bovis Homes-sponsored kit, after a donation from Vistry Group.
Vistry, which has the head office for its East Midlands region in Peterborough and is building new Bovis Homes properties at Hampton Water in the city, provided new kit for the U9 Yellows at Crowland Juniors Football Club, based at Snowden Field in Crowland.
Team manager Chris Page said: “We are grateful to Vistry for the sponsorship of our team.
“I have managed the team for two years since they started as under-sevens. I offered to take charge of the team during the Covid-19 pandemic. At the time we only had six players, but since then we have signed a further six players and have many more who train with us.
“This is our third season as a team, and it has been amazing to watch them grow and improve in confidence and skill. Our club strives to give everybody an opportunity to play football. We never turn players away and offer everybody the chance to have a go.”
The U9 Yellows play in the Peterborough and District Junior Alliance, with home games held at Snowden Field. Crowland Juniors FC was formed in 1972 and provides football training for over 100 children each week.
Nic Chapman, sales and marketing director for Vistry East Midlands, said: “Junior football teams, like the U9 Yellows at Crowland Juniors, play a really important role in local communities, giving youngsters the chance to get active, learn new skills and socialise with other people their age.
“We are therefore pleased to be able to sponsor the team as part of our wider commitment to supporting community groups in the areas in which we build homes.”
