First residents move to St Congar’s Place in the nick of time!

The first residents at St Congar’s Place in Congresbury had just unpacked when their baby decided to make an early appearance on Christmas Eve.

Hannah, 34, and Ian, 33, moved to their new Bovis home at the end of November with their two year old son Louie. Speaking about their eventful winter, Hannah said: “I was pregnant with our second child, who wasn’t due until January, so we thought we had plenty of time to unpack, prepare for Christmas and settle into our new home. However, our baby had other ideas and arrived early on Christmas Eve! Louie now has a gorgeous younger brother – Arthur, or Artie for short. We can’t believe how lucky we are that we moved in time.”

Commenting on their move, Hannah added: “We’d been living in a four bedroom home near Whitchurch village in Bristol but the location just wasn’t right for us. We found it too rural with a young family and were constantly having to get in the car. The garden was also quite small and we knew we wanted to move before our second child was born and we started thinking about schools for our eldest.

“We had looked at a beautiful older cottage but it wasn’t a sensible move for us at this stage in life with two little ones and a large list of renovation works to complete. We’d bought a new home before and knew the benefits of having everything finished, so we started looking for a new property.

“Being near to the motorway was important, as Ian commutes to work, but the main aim was to find a lovely place to raise a family and Congresbury certainly ticked all the boxes! There’s Cadbury Garden Centre, soft play for the children, cafes, shops, pubs and gorgeous walks – there’s always something going on, it’s a thriving community. It’s also still really close to Bristol, so we can easily see friends.”

Hannah and Ian bought their new four bedroom Chestnut home using Home Exchange, which meant Bovis Homes bought their home so they could move without a chain.

Hannah said: “Everything went seamlessly with Home Exchange, it was a brilliant move for us – especially as I was expecting. It took a lot of the worry and stress away. We learnt the new owners, that Bovis sold to, only moved to our old home in February. We were very lucky to have used Home Exchange or we’d have had to pack and move with a two month old!

“We’re so happy with our new home, I’ve always wanted bi-fold doors and absolutely love that our open plan kitchen/dining room fully opens out to the rear garden – it’s a fantastic space for the family. We’ve turned the study into a playroom for the boys and the whole layout of our house suits us perfectly.

“Our home has photovoltaic panels and we’ve been pleased with the first energy bills we received.

“We also like that it’s a small development of 50 homes and that it’s been well-designed. Tara in the sales team and Nathan, the assistant site manager, have been wonderful, nothing has been too much trouble and they’ve been very thoughtful with the little ones.

“We have friendly neighbours and there’s a lovely community feel to the area, it’s been an incredible move for us.”

Natasha Palmer, head of sales, said: “We’re so pleased Hannah, Ian and their boys are all settled in their new home. It sounds as though Artie didn’t want to miss the first Christmas in their new home together and he’s definitely the youngest resident at the development!

“St Congar’s Place is proving to be very popular. Not only is it in a stunning location – near glorious countryside and just a short drive from the city of Bristol – but there’s a great range of properties available for families and couples to make their forever home.”

When complete, the development will provide 50 energy efficient three, four and five bedroom homes, a play park, a trim trail and a grazing pasture area, off Wrington Lane.

St Congar’s Place will be supporting the local community by contributing over £213,000 towards: primary education, special educational needs and disability services, transport for secondary education, sports and leisure, local sports pitches, traffic management, a youth education contribution towards Congresbury Youth Centre and a local travel plan.
