Thanks to support from the local community, Congresbury Christmas Fair was a huge success and raised over £2,000 for Weston Hospicecare and Congresbury Scouts and Guides.
Bovis Homes, part of Vistry Group, which helps many community initiatives near to its developments and is building new homes locally at St Congars Place, donated money and a raffle prize.
The Congresbury Christmas Fair showcased many innovative stalls in Broad Street, including the Cubs’ human fruit machine, the Brownies’ bottle tombola, and a festive raffle. There was also children’s entertainment and a brass band!
Sarah Heiermann from Congresbury Scouts and Guides, who is on the organising committee, commented: “The Congresbury Christmas Fair is held every year and 2023 was amazing – the whole village community came together.
“Not only did we raise a fantastic sum, which will help enormously, but it provided some terrific opportunities for Brownies, Guides, Cubs, Scouts and local residents to enjoy some festive games and celebrations! Thank you to Bovis Homes and all the local businesses for the support.”
Natasha Palmer, area sales director at Bovis Homes, said: “We were pleased to help such a wonderful community event and donate to two incredible causes. Well done to the Congresbury Scouts and Guides for all their hard work!”
Funds raised help Weston Hospicecare to treat people in their hour of need as well as enabling the Scout and Guide executive committee to support young people in their activities and maintain the Scout and Guide hut in Congresbury.
