A Bovis Homes site manager is celebrating after winning his first Quality Award at this year’s National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job awards. Mark Tattershall, who is based at the developer’s Hampton Water site in Peterborough, is one of just 450 site managers across the UK to be awarded the sought-after industry accolade from a field of around 10,000 candidates. Pride in the Job ?" which is now in its 41st year ?" is one of the housebuilding industry’s most prestigious competitions, recognising the vital work and unwavering commitment of the UK’s top-performing site managers. Mark took charge at Hampton Water ?" his first Bovis Homes site ?" in July last year, having worked as a site manager with Linden Homes for the previous three years. Both housebuilders are part of Vistry Group, which also includes Vistry Partnerships. Mark said: “I’m really pleased to have won this prestigious award for the first time. It’s not only a reflection of my own hard work, but of the dedication of those in my team at Hampton Water. “As we started working on the site during the pandemic, this brought its own set of challenges, but it’s one I think myself and the team have risen to by maintaining safety measures and continuing to deliver excellent customer service. “As work begins on phase two of Hampton Water, my goal moving forwards is to continue providing the best service possible for all of our customers and ensuring construction continues on track, with the aim of hopefully receiving another Quality Award next year.” The judging process for the Quality Awards began last July, with each site manager being evaluated on their consistency, attention to detail, technical expertise, leadership, and health and safety procedures. Following his Quality Award win, Mark is now in the running for an elite Seal of Excellence accolade as well as the overall Regional Award, with the winners due to be announced in the autumn. Rob Spittles, Construction Director for Vistry East Midlands, said: “We are all exceptionally proud of Mark for achieving his first Pride in the Job Quality Award. It is a real testament to his dedication, passion and commitment to producing homes of excellent quality at Hampton Water. “For Mark to receive this honour during one of the most challenging years ?" in both the construction industry and beyond ?" is an even greater achievement and reflects his exceptional talent and leadership skills. “I’d like to thank the whole team at Hampton Water for their continued hard work and wish Mark every success in the next stage of the competition.” For more information about Hampton Water, visit bovishomes.co.uk.
